Bob Matonti, KN6CVB
 

Bob Matonti, KN6CVB, passed away Monday morning, April 20, 2026.  Bob was born in March 1947 in Brooklyn, New York and still had that wonderful accent. He joined our Laguna Woods RACES team in 2019 and participated in many exercises and drills here in Laguna Woods. He had a great interest and passion for emergency disaster preparedness and became a great friend and leader for our RACES Team. During the pandemic, Bob encouraged us to do a Table Top exercise over video teleconferencing and it proved to be a great success. He encouraged the Village to install antennas on the roofs of our Clubhouses to improve communications within the Village during a disaster and encouraged all of us to keep our Go Bags ready and radios charged. Bob was always someone you could count on and had a wonderful heart for service. He was our good friend and we will always remember him.
